As always, quality images. I also like the Red Tulip and White Cat.

Any difference when shooting with Oly 18-180mm SG Lens as compared to your 40-150mm?

Thanks johnlim.

The "Bicycle' and the "Red Tulip" shots were both taken without IS turned on. No sharpening were used.

The 18-180mm is a good versatile walkabout lens. It's light enough and surprisingly focus relatively fast ~ responsive. What I like most is the "zinc -zinc" sound when it's focusing....like those high tech robotic sound.

I would have guessed by now that most of the hunting problem with Oly E150 might be due to its "less superior" AF system. At times it can be next to impossible to use its right and left AF point to lock on focus........at least that's what I've experienced with the 4 Oly lenses that I've used; The 2 kit, 50mm and the 18-180mm.

From what I've heard about its not so sharp (soft) quality might be due to users unfamiliar with the longer range and its slower aperture usage. It works better in bright environment and one has to be always mindful of the speed use. Another reason also might be due to its greater DOF at F6.3, it is just so much harder to achieve isolation or separation of subject for it to stand out.
Of course in terms of sharpness nothing beats the 50mm F2, the subject just pops right out of the picture however it is not an easy lens to use!

After all what I've said it is still boils down to what we need: cheap/light/convenient vs.expensive/big/creative as compared to the 50-200mm HG lens. I think a good compromise lens would be the PanaLeica 14-150mm but hard to find!

I would strongly recommend to those who wants to travels light, don't want the bulk and are happy to capture great shots for their photo album. This camera combination is cheap, compact and convenient.

Cheers! :)

nice one. i personally feel that the exposure can be increased by about 0.3ev, i find the model's clothes to be a little dull.

Thanks adrewine and headfonz for your suggestions, appreciate them very much. Cheers!

PLEASE READ THIS, REGULAR CONTRIBUTORS TO THE GALLERY

There was reminder brought up among the moderators recently, to remind us to remind the community that this gallery is for showing the colors of the system but it is slowly becoming a personal gallery and a critique corner sub forum.

I don't mean to stop people from sharing, especially when we are a small community of users afterall... but from the moderation and admin team's point of view, there are the right sections created within the forums for this purpose, and the images will receive a wider range of comments from other photographers.

Of course, if you have bought a new lens, a new camera body or found new processing techniques unique to Olympus to share (like creative use of Art Filters), then please kindly share them here and discuss. But remember, this is Equipment Discussion Section of the ClubSNAP Forums, and not a personal or public gallery or critique corner. There are sections for this.

Hope no one is offended by this post and neither is this post targeted at anyone. Just a reminder for everyone who have posted in this section regularly to bear in mind about the purpose this Equipment Discussion Gallery was originally created for.

Please help me out here ok?

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I am trying to work something out so that you guys can bring attention to your works for discussions and share. I have been very impressed with some of the recent works in this section and am impressed at the level of photography within this section. I am so proud of you guys.

One way, of course, is to start your own APAD thread (A picture a day) and bookmark one another's thread in your browser.

I am seeking permission to see if we can start a sticky for posting threads, but not pictures and no discussions in that sticky thread... might or might not work... let's see how.
