I love the perspective. 14mm, hmmm, but the horizon is level, so there must be some editing. Is this cropped image like about 45% of the bottom being chopped?

Hi aryanto, this shot is 100% 14mm and totally no cropping or leveling at all. Just the usual B&W treatment and added a pin hole kind of effect.......... I was not so lucky that day as the sky was bland and lifeless........

I was pleasantly surprised that I managed to level the horizon............as 95% of the time I have to do slight leveling..........I always thought that I've got crooked eye when shooting architectural shots.....hehe.........never been able to get the line perfect. :dunno: Wonder if you guys have this problem?
Hoping that the E30 with the LV leveling would help me in this kind of shots.

Cheers!

Stevewhy, Nice photo - sharp :) Love the eye lashes.
Do you have others with the costume too? Kind of sad if they spend lots of effort on the costume and you did not take full body shot.

Nop! No PS either!
It's the 40-150mm kit lens and using the same technique I shared with you the last time. :)

Eh what technique, tell liao. Share with more people! :D

Time for the "student" to share what the sifu taught...

Basically, while lens at 150mm and aperture at f5.6, make sure that subject is at minimum focusing distance and the background is far enough... that way the background will be blur enough... achieving your so-called "bokeh"... Take note that this is probably just half of the story... choosing the "proper" background is the other half of it...

Actually I kind of used the same technique when taking the Beat Blades Haruka figurine photo... all with the 40-150 kit lens! :D

But of course, I cannot really copy how sifu does it...

Ah this one. OK, I discover this also with 18-180mm taking photo of flowers, must make sure background objects are far far away, or point a bit up so see more sky.

Well... it's kinda basic actually, but powerful enough for me to hold on to the 40-150 :D
