Anyone develop their slides/negatives at Fotohub?

I am not sure if I am the only person experiencing it, but my latest batch of 10 rolls from Fotohub is REALLY bad. I got stains (all over the frame), colour shift in some frames (a line running down half a single frame, where there's a difference in the colours of the scan), lots of scratches (argh!!) and dirt (note.. not dust, I use a dust blower on my negatives before I scan). I had to use photoshop to clean up the image (before its even acceptable, but for those night scenes, I have problems differentiating between the dirt and stars!!!) and its pissing me off. It affected both my B&W and colour negatives.

Wondering if I am the only person or has other experience the same?

Hmm, my last batch of slides which I sent in a couple of weeks ago turned out fine. Not sure if yours is an isolated incident.

Eh my negatives were kinda scratched as well.. But that was only the last batch..

Oh dear!..I've just sent in two rolls to try at FotoHub instead of Triple D:sweat:

Have 2 rolls of slides developed by them yesterday, requested 16 bits scan, unmount...did not notice any issues with their digital scan. However, the color balance from one roll of AFGA Precisa 100 color slide seem out...don't know if that is film issue or processing... first time trying those.

:)

My slides from them are ok. No problems, except for one roll, they didn't cut my strips properly and cut part of my picture off. -.-

Hmm... I have never encountered this problem with Fotohub and was generally quite pleased with their service.

I have the same problem here! :bsmilie:
Have been shooting B&W for months now. Never look back.

People who pay to develop and scan from FH will not have this problem.

Ah, never experienced this in my whole experience developing there.

The last time they made a miniscule scratch on one frame, they refunded me a roll of provia 400x.
That was a frame which i didn't like the shot anyway, so yes, i actually felt glad it happened :D

I hope its a one off.. cos I usually send my negatives there, be it C-41 or B&W..

Anyway, to those who develop slides only, it is treated differently from mine, which are B&W and C-41 negatives.

I am rather upset because the 8 rolls that I sent in were of my Taiwan trip and I had sent them in because I had no time to self-develop.

I collected the negatives during lunch from the Raffles City outlet and as for the refund..I am not pursuing that. Also, being negatives, I could only see the damage (if any?) when I scan them.

I hope you spoke to them directly about this. How did they account for the quality?

Did not bother since I usually deal with the Raffles City ladies (jus opp my office). Just wanted to know if anyone who has developed B&W or C-41 with them recently got the same sub-standard o/p.

Anyway, the impt thing now is to scan and depend on the healing/cloning tool in PS... :(

I have personally never used Fotohub so cannot comment about their quality of work. It may be useful to give them some feedback so that they can look into your case.

I have used 35mm lab which I found to be quite good consistently. You may also wish to try them.

if i am not wrong, the developing is done at the outlet at beach rd, not at where u drop off your film. in fact, i know all the b&w stuff end up there.

Hi

Which Fotohub are u referring to?

I do not go to any Fotohub except for the one at Beach Road, because that's a proper pro lab. The way I see it, the rest are all very consumer oriented, and if the negs and slides are important to you, you should be letting the staff at Beach Road handle them directly. They are very accommodating to requests.

Having said that, I just want to qualify even "non pro" labs can give professional results. I know of another lab in Bedok - from the outside looks like any neighbourhood shop but the staff there is really dedicated and even makes prints to specifications if u know them well enough.

For me personally thoiugh, I still go to the outlet at Beach Road.
