Formatting a USB 40GB HDD to FAT32

im not sure if your case is related to espn's...it should be a setting on ur video editing capture program :think: . im not sure about espn's HD enclosure brand but i previously purchased a cheapo (no brand) usb 2.0 enclosure and i encountered a lot of different problem on data integrity. Now I purchased a new enclosure (Cutie DX, Korean brand...arnd $60) and everything is okay.

You mean I can't copy more than 2GB at a time? But I tried copying 1GB of NEFs, it stop near halfway, thereabouts 500MB?

nope, you should be able to and 2gb should not be an issue. my concern is more on the quality of the usb enclosure which might be the problem since HD is the least thing i would suspect.

Errr....dunno what to say! I just managed to transfer one batch of 6.5gb raw photos from the XdriveII to my pc without failed. :dunno:

I'm using DigiMate II Plus.

Its a FAT32 thing. Mentioned in video editing s/w manual.

Anyway thot ESPN was transferring 1 giant chunk, not a bunch of smaller files.

I'm using DigiMate II Plus.

I use a cheapo, dosen't even have a name printed on it, no problem transferring 76g of various files.

If I do multiple copies from the HDD to the portable, it's fine too, but I haven't tried large files
