anyone has any idea what the setup in..

red light camera,

speed camera,

gantry (ermm... camera or sensor?),

it'll be interesting to know what's in a red-light cam and what setting.. shutter speed.. what flash.. angle... what film (it's b&w? i think i heard before) or does it perform in low light etc...

since most of us know theory on photography.. this thread might became something like a '知己知彼' kinda...

maybe you can break open one in the middle of the night and let us know??

film?!?! how does TP process the pics then? open every camera daily and check the film? i think it's digital...

anyone knows what's really inside do share!

Perhaps it is CMOS DIGICII or Sony CCD. If use film, it would be fun to speed thru the cameras while they are checking the films.

No pictures, no records :D

Not sure about that. seems like a high powered flash. shutter of 1/800 or more?

Roll a shopping trolley or ride your bike across the sensor while it is red light (preferably late at night when theres no cars)
back and forth... back and forth...
flash flash flash flash:D

overhead bridge ones are nikon i think

haha.. to break one and find a 1dm2 + 14mm inside i would break a few more...

when red light cam already exist i dont think there was advance digital cam to capture fast movement... and many times i see those pple bringing down to cam pole to work on something.. so i guess film perharps..... now probably should upgrade it havent..

my friend ever showed me on how to activate d traffic lights camera, he only needs to turn on
his yellow blinkers on top of his trailer truck..... we did it b4 d traffic lights junction, n guess what......
d camera keeps flashing a few times...
but that was sometime back....
any takers .......????

maybe like mee pok man's CCTV. lol

I've no idea about the speed camera's setup but one thing for sure, the flash is indeed VERY VERY POWERFUL! I was behind this car which got 'flashed' by the PIE speed camera and gosh! ... I was blinded for a good 2s!

Can you imagine what will happen if that car brakes abruptly after getting 'flashed', with a 'termporarily blinded' driver (me) behind him!!!??? He gets a ticket (& demerit points) ... and probably a brand new bumper as well! :D If that happens, I wonder if I can claim against TP for causing the accident? :bsmilie:

Fixed speed and red light camera are film type. When the film used up even when a car speed across, it will still flash however no image taken.

U must be darn heavy to activate the sensor.....put some lead in your trolley...:bsmilie: :bsmilie:

Hey think about it! May be it's one of our CS member hired to hide in the pole and snap, snap...snap!! So, no fix cam model???:bsmilie: :bsmilie: :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

those cameras used to catch bus lane offenders use panasonic lumix fx9. confirm panasonic. you can see them in operation during morning hours.

seriously you think anyone who has info will leak it over a public forum?

They should make these cameras and lens for the consumers. Able to capture license plates under low light, able to freeze the motion of speedy cars.. wow!

I believe the lens must be a 85mm f1.0, and ISO 1600 IR film...

looks like our slr has gotta higher specs....

http://www.sussexsafetycameras.gov.uk/facts.htm

look what i've found...

this model works on radar not sensor...

35mm film on magazine up to 800

1/1000

asa 100-900

schneider lense f3.8 90mm
