With the immense interest in Food Blogs aka Flogs these days, I wonder if the administrators of ClubSNAP think it is time we have a new section on Food Photography. I think so far photographs of food are posted in abstracts/still life. What do Snappers think?

Here's a beautiful food photography site http://www.foodportfolio.com/frames/base_frame.html

can c cannot eat, betta dun c too much- makes me hungry!

thanks 4 sharing anyway. ;)

different and contrasting styles.
personally prefer mike's. clean and really brings out the flavour of the food.

Oh in my first post, I meant to say most photos of food were posted in macros and close-ups photo gallery section.

oh thanks for that link! drool.......

yeah the challenge of food photography is to entice the appetite of the viewer. isn't that what photography is about? make the viewer wanna be there to see and experience what is not too far away from the photographer's lens.

speaking of which, here are more "edible" photos, this time, from flogs of Singaporeans

I envy his job!
Kuidaore http://brandoesq.blogspot.com/ She makes such awesome dessert!

At the end of last month, there was a Does My Blog Look Good In This #10 Contest. Quoting from CH's site,
"there are a few rules:

* (Contestants) may only submit one photo
* The photo must be food/drink related
* The photo must have been taken by (the contestant)
* The photo must have appeared on (contestant's) blog in the month of September

The photo with the highest score based on the following criteria will be selected as the "Grand Champion".

* Aesthetics - "Would it look good on the cover of Gourmet?"
* Eatability - "Do we drool just looking at it?"
* Originality - "Damn! I wish I had thought of that!"

The highest scoring photos for each category will be given the "Aesthetics Champ", "Eatability Champ", and "Originality Champ" awards."

You can see the winning shots on Chubby Hubby's site

you don't have to bake! just take photos of food made or bought by others!

Food photography is not as easy as it seems. I took some photos today and felt like an idiot cos the photos didn't do justice to the food at all!

Could you enlighten me as to what you consider wonderful food photography? I'd like to see a different perspective. Thanks!
