but some shoots have a little distractions... the first one is da best

Dear iamasaint,

Thank you for the advise. I'm doing some food shots over the weekend for my father-in-law.

Cheers,

Luc

just saw the pics that iamasaint posted...

i was salivating when i see the pictures :embrass: :embrass: :embrass:

but yeah.. think that more depth of view would be better :p

Welcome to the wonderful world of food photography! :)

The shots were great, but I feel that the depth of field in some cases didn't have to be so shallow. Also, if you had interesting cutlery those could help introduce a "mood" to the food (wow that rhymes).

Ice-cream shots. Use mash potatoes. ;)

I'm in Canada right now and am, like everyone else overseas, foodsick.

The photos obviously are serving their purpouse. Damnit.

Yummaliscious pix!

Just curious, how much actual food styling was done?

Nothing much was done. It is as good as it comes out from the restaurant's kitchen.

Food display and styling skills are lacking. On a technical point, more depth of field.

I think you need more DOF to make it more interesting.
