I'd like to ask those who're experienced with RF shooting how you handle off-center subjects, meaning focusing on subjects outside the rangefinder patch?
Right now, what I do is focus with them in the middle first then re-compose and try to compensate for the shift in the focus plane (either by shifting the focus a bit or adjusting the aperture to compensate). This is new to me compared to shooting with a camera wherein focusing is done through the lens.
Am I doing this correctly, and is there a more convenient/accurate way of doing this? Thanks.
