Flashes

Hi all,

I have just realised that my nikon S600 cant work with my R2A Can anyone haf exprience getting a flash for RF as i am a newbie to it.

Size is matter to me and hope can get something like those can bounce flash.... :embrass:

Any to recommend?

I have heard people using Metz with Leica M so you might want to head towards that direction. Thats all I can do is to point you towards that direction.

I use my SB-28 on both my R2 and R2A all the time. I have a Metz 32z-2, but the hotshoe won't fit right for some reason...

Anyway, the Bessas don't have any TTL functionality so any flash will work on it in "Auto" mode (so long as the shoe fits, the bessa can wear it )

Not sure if this helps, but I hybridized my Bessa-R with a Lomo ColorSplash Flash..
(Oh Horror! some will say.. :bigeyes

Ain't nothing fancy, but it works.. Can't bounce it, just simple flash forward..
Only thing is that the ColorSplash Flash comes with an array of gel inserts, nice if you wanna mess up the shot with blues, purples, reds etc..

Since it's non-TTL the only pin that should matter is the firing pin, which is standard for all flashes?

I really like the Olympus FL-20 flash. The cutest, smallest flash that I have seen. Its auto (thyristor) mode works with M8 and Epson RD-1s. Is this flash safe, in terms of voltage and the current carried in the extra pins?

I also not very sure about all these flashes and i got a china brand flash which cost 15SGD. Haven finish the roll of flim yet.....:embrass:

At the risk of sounding really stupid, I have a genuine question.

Will the Canon 420 flash work on an M8? or will it explode in my face?

Consider Nikon SB30 for a film rangefinder.

I've seen discussions of its merits on rangefinder forum dot com.
