Flashaholics - Fall In Here

SR90 looks really awesome!

was thinking what will it be like if Led Lenser uses SST-90 with it's patented lens.

Hi Cateye,

noticed the 3 separate outlets for the LED, wouldn't this create 3 hotspots? btw, how much does this baby cost?

Any kind souls in here, to recommend me the best place to get Lenser flash lights in SG.

p7.jpg

Currently I am looking at P7 (200 lumens). I need a powerful flash light yet portable ("AAA" or "AA" size bat preferred).
I intend to use for my upcoming oversea hiking trip and the new light need to run for 10+ hr.

If you have better models in mind, please let me know as well... no Fenix please.

Thanks.

Hi,

I think cateye has led lenser. we were talking abt it the other time when i met her to collect my catapult. anyway, i hv the led lenser X21 and P14 in my collection. u can consider the P14 too. a tad bigger than the P7 and it's running on AA batteries. i rotate my other lights but i always carry the P14 in my bag simply because it uses AA cells and focusable lens. i suggest it's better u give cateye a call before trying other shops.

Thanks Ayreon

I'm will find out from catEYE. I have seen the collection at Sim Lim Tower the other day. Quite impress with the build quality, design and brightness. Hope to find a best deal so I can get a pair for different purposes. :)

Great thread!!

Great thread!!

I think u are referring to the shop on the 2nd storey in Sim lim tower. the one that sells batteries and hardware stuffs. my P14 is a gift from my god mother. she bought it from that shop for $120. could hv save her some money if she gets it from cateye cos cateye has very good offer for Led Lensers.

enjoy ur new purchase and good hunting :)

How about headlamp? Any good recommendation?

How about headlamp? Any good recommendation?

i dont hv any headlamp so it's hard for me to recommend u anything.

i do know that fenix has some headlamps in their line up and so does led lenser.

perhaps someone else in this thread can help u out in the headlamp department.

u can go to cateye for a demo before purchasing anything from her.

meanwhile, u can do some homework via the google search engine to see what are the available headlamps that are in the market.

or u can join us at candlepowerforums. there is a whole wealth of information from hobbyists all over the world. :)

I am thinking of selling my Surefire torchlight. Was wondering if can sell on CS marketplace? Can a torchlight be considered photography equipment? I have one in my camera bag all the time...

:dunno:

Hi,

Any HID addicts here? Have those USA/ebay type 6" reflector 35W HID and also the ebay 50W/38W torch. Just purchased the new version 65W/45W HID, same form factor as the 50W/38W. Not sure if the battery can supply enough juice. But apprarently the 50W with so-called "12V 6600mAH" Li-ion can do just over 70 mins burn time, tried it twice already. Initially was more afraid of the burn time (ie batt capacity) than the throw capability or what. Actually it throws nearly as well as the 35W with 6" reflector, and has a larger hotspot. So its pretty good for the price....the 65W is just usd$138 shipped via EMS.

I always bring a flashlight or two whenever I go to a certain Indonesian town, always get blackouts but usually none too long nowadays.

What is the current throw monster / brightest stuff (actual lumens) for LED? Have they gotten past the thermal hurdle? (don't think so). Out of touch already....but I know great advances have been made these few years, nowadays they are testing LED streetlamps in Jurong East and some parts I think....so I think the emitters shd be really good nowadays going past 100 lm/W and high power?
