Flash Delay on A33/A55

Just some addition to an old thread. I tested a Minolta 3600 HSD on my A33 and it fires off almost instantly in A-mode. Red-eye: Off, Fill-flash selected.

As I mostly shoot in A-mode, I find that setting to rear flash (with camera on board flash) will make the flash fire almost instantly as well. Fill-flash mode is always annoyingly delayed. I know the "consequences" of using rear flash for longer exposures, but in A-mode, shutter speed with flash is always between 1/60 - 1/160s so that effect is negligible most of the time. I have now switched to using rear flash instead of fill-flash.

I also has this problem. I used the f-58AM with A55 during last week's golf (indoor event) and it was like 0.5 sec lag. To make matter worst, if I used the M mode the LCD went blank and I couldn't see anything hahaha... Perhaps these are weak points of an SLT system that Sony needs to address. Anyone can help how to compose in M mode under lack of light/ dark situation?

Oh, and it seems that the battery power consumption of the f-58AM is really poor. It drains out easily compared to SB-900 (Nikon) and EX-580 (Canon) and recycle longer than those 2. Anyone has compared?

Please help...
