I find it especially useful for night street photography too... without any need for tripod.

Hi Hosea just wanna clarify with ya, what do you mean without any need for tripod?

By not using a tripod, it does not mean the FE ( apart from the wide angleness ) confers any properties that should make it a faster lens than any other lenses of the same apperture right ?

well, its its "wide angleness" that makes it more handholdable for night photography..

since the general rule of thumb is 1/focal length and fish eyes have very short focal lengths..

Hi giantcanopy, good to use a tripod for a proper nice landscape/cityscape shoot.
Perhap the short focus length , f2.8 help when hand held.
