First try at a fashion shoot

Lol i'm glad i don't shoot portraiture. Confirm kena worse than TS. Probably also the reason i wouldn't start doing portraiture. I think landscape shooters for the lack of human-oriented thinking, are much nicer. Irony how a genre which is so human-oriented can lack a human touch. Not sure if TS deserves to be gunned down as i don't quite see any arrogance as would have justified gunning down some previous arrogant and self-deluded individuals.

Thanks Bro Shizuma and nitewalk and all those who have complimented and criticized me. Well, I am a very technical guy, throughout the shoot the only thing I had in my mind was the settings, the lighting etc. I payed zero attention to the model's wardrobe, poses and even the background. Never knew that there's so much more little details that one must take note of in order to get it right. I must say, I have learnt much from the criticisms here. These are valuable advises and criticism which I would have never knew if I hadn't posted up these photos up on CS. I'm still new into this genre of photography as I mainly do events and stage photography. I hope guys are not shooting me down just because I'm a newbie haha!

Perhaps maybe you guys can check out my macro thread to see more of what I do over here at http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/macros-close-ups/1251406-sharing-some-macros-my-start-subforum.html :D

With the new knowledge from this thread, if I have the opportunity to do a shoot like this again, I will most definitely share it on CS and maybe you guys see if I have improved or not!

Cheers!

Cheers to your positive attitude!

I honestly think its a pretty decent effort. Sure there are some stuff that could have been improved for this genre, but we all learn along the way. More importantly, you have the guts to put it out there and your attitude in the positive stride instead of being defensive. Kudos:thumbsup::thumbsup:

If you are still keen, perhaps next time I am doing some studio stuff, you can drop by and we can do some conceptual shooting. I don't profess to be anywhere good but I can share how I light my set. I don't post often but you can search through my posts to see some samples of my studio stuff.

Keep on shooting.

FYI, your Bro Shizuma is a girl..... :)

Btw, I see lots of shoes, big shoes, maybe you want to watch out for that.

Hey man, seen some of your photos, they are way beyond my standard! I definitely love to learn more from the pros like you, thanks and greatly appreciate it! :)

Pic 1 is very good. As for the rest, u need more practice interacting with the model in working out a better pose.

The solution to a dress that sticks a bit too much (esp polyester material), is a non synthetic slip or half-slip beneath. it will stop the material from clinging too much and not err...highlight her anatomy in such a way that is really in-your-face . hope that helps :)

actually...i feel #7 problem is not with the dress leh...it's ok to highlight her anatomy with sticky clothes..i feel it's more the way she pose..her facial expression..if her pose was a sexy kitten pose with the sticky clothes, this would have made it to the "Nose Bleed Uncle" shots. ;p
anyway..i'm also noob...and Rashkae's comments are interesting read for me...
what about the dof? seems like duskman is using small hole...kind of distract me from her anatomy. :)
