actually i was looking for a prosumer camera and the salesman told that 1D is professional, 10D is prosumer, G3 is high-end consumer, and below that are all toys, then since i am already so old, no reason for me to save money for my grandchildren. Anyway the salesman claimed that for such a camera it would have cost close to $10k 2 yr ago, and if i wait for next yr, maybe it will cost $1.5K. But with this SARS thing, I decide that time and tide will wait for NO man. i think i made a logical and practical choice.
again compare buying a camera and a car in Sg, most car depreciate more than $2K A MONTH! Just tahan a few months delaying buying a car, you can easily bougth a 10D, which will last a long time.
Which shop told U that crap?
I believe 10D is definately a professional camera.... and Canon G3 is a prosumer camera.....
2 years ago??? Think 10D was just released less than 6 months ago lor.....
Anyway..... it may be abit too fast to jump straight into 10D since U still new to photography..... I started with a consumer digital camera 2 yers ago and juz upgraded to a prosumer recently..... But I still find myself using it very often as a Point and Shoot camera.....
Don't know will I be too shy till I faint or not.....

I only have 2 photo which I am proud of only after 2 years with my Sony Cybershot 505. The others are mainly family photos. I have just bought my Canon 10D on 9th June and yet to use it.
Will bring my 2 photos and hope to received criticismm I am still extremely new in photography even though have been a art director for 5 years prior to my engineering career now.
Hope to get tips from more Shi Xiong and Shi Jie. Wanted to buy a 75 - 30mm lens on that day. Will be there at about 6pm

Really? 10D is a professional camera?
Don't make me laugh.
My opinion is that the 10D does not deserve being called professional. My opinion is that the 10D is justly deserved to be called a high-end prosumer digital camera.
Reasons? I don't even want to mention it.
