I would say good try for a first timer but do take note that some a\of it are a bit distorted!

Thanks for the encouragement!
What exactly do you mean by distorted?? :(

woah some are really great for a beginner (eg #1 and #2)

i don't really know how to explain distortion but it usually occurs when your lens is at its widest

if you take a look at your last photo you realise that the buildings at the side are slanting towards the centre

besides that try not to cut things off abruptly like the building at the right in #4

hey but its great for a beginner already as you have nailed the exposure correctly for most of them (if not all...)

my photos ain't very brilliant either so i'm still learning too :)

Nice pic taken... may i know which cam u r using? and lens as well . =D

Distortion means curving of the building usually taken using wide angle lenses and one of your photo is a bit noisy also. Maybe try lowering down your ISO!

#2 is a good shot

#2 is a good shot
Thanks! It's just a random picture i took when i was walking around the shoppes. Didn't expect it to turn out that good!

I am using a pentax k-x kit lens. Any suggestion for me to avoid 'distortion'?

All are almost Pro shots. I don't buy it that you are first timer to DSLR. Such beauties.

All except one are taken using the auto mode actually. I am still learning how to fully utilize the prowess of the manual mode...

Up for more C&C!

i think the building slanting can be solved using photoshop or picasa.

For picasa there's a straighten function. i just started using it and figuring how to create a watermark.

Nice shots
