First time processing C-41

I don't recommend accordion bottles as well, filling with marbles is much easier. Cleaning the accordion bottles is also not easy due to the number of folds.

Actually my water bath is pretty small, its a Coleman cooler which fits up to around 7 330ml cans. It has a lid so floating and splashing is minimized. Combined with towels and a set of funnels spillage is also minimized.

I stay at home with my 4 siblings and a horribly stubborn and curious dog, so I also have to be fast in developing, hence the pre-mix before the actual developing.

Anyway, slides are very expensive for the format I shoot in so I make sure the colors come out as nice as possible haha.

Following up on my previous posting and the glitches I encountered while processing the Digibase (Rollei) CN200Pro, finish off another roll of film and this time its the Kodak Ektar 100. This process involved re-using the previous solution and as usual I fumble in the black bags with the reel... but I feel there should be less abuse this time around.

I again process at 30degC but I increase my initial timing by 30 sec for the developer and bleach and 45 sec for the fixer. Here are some of the outcome of that particular process

The images is as scanned and no PP. Note the abuse, not that bad but still there

Magnum: Wow the colours look really good! might be tempted to do my own if C-41 was cheaper and easier to source.

Note the white dots at the bottom and top of the image....

The white spots I attribute to watermarks, on some of the negative strips I did wash them off and the white spots did go off but still need to refine the developing process otherwise lots of time will be spend on cleaning up these bits and pieces.

and lastly

The images above can conclude that there was nothing wrong with my chemicals in the previous failure with the CN200. That was largely due to me not familiar using that particular film.

I'm on the second run on this set of chemicals and basically this is still a test for the Digibase C-41. Will see how long is the shelf life and how many films I can processed for 1L of the solution.

I think the colours are good also partly because due to the Kodak Ektar film, good stuff...;)

Btw the bridge is very familiar. If you stay near there then we're not too far away from each other!

and yes, Ektar is by far the best negative I've used IMO.

Looks very good, Ektar is probably my favorite color negative as well.

Which side of the bridge are you staying? I'm staying on the far end side (from the image perspective ... ) ...

This is the first time I use a pro film like the Ektar, cost slightly more than your normal consumer film but the difference quite a lot hor.... I have a Portra 400 in my stash and will be giving that a try soon..

Thanks guys for sharing your opinion and experience!!
