first time I actually don't feel underwhelmed with an Oly release!

I wouldn't be surprised if they have the E-5 replacement by the end of the year, simply because I bought my E-5 in November.

I can't imagine that it will be extremely upgraded, except for the sensor and the TruePIC processor. They're not fighting anyone else any longer in the dSLR war. If they claim ISO 25,600, does that mean that even I will be satisfied with the ISO 1600 output? :bsmilie:

haha its amazing how oly users get used to their very exaggerated marketing claims on the their sensors capabilities.. i'd want my e30's iso 800 noise to be around iso 6400 in the em5.. i think at that iso i'd very happy for now.

Also, I feel a change in their marketing strategy to lean towards more realistic claims would actually benefit them. Its like the more outrageous their claim is, the more people get put off by it... those that understand it anyway not the bigger number = better crowd

Well, I take it with most camera makers that the top end is not usable at all, even for small prints or web work. The recently announced Nikon D4 goes to ISO 204,800. Should I use it past 25,600? I think you're taking a chance doing that. I'd think that ISO 3200 would be good and most could use that effectively. It's going to end like the Megapixel myth, like the Megahertz myth, etc.

Probably main focus now is to cut cost in their camera business ....
