First Singapore film to win at Cannes

In the link that was given... I saw the director, and people with NIKON and CANON cameras, lenses and flashes behind!!!! what a nice view!

Has anyone watched it? Gosh....

Now ILO ILO has won 2013 Golden Horse 最佳劇情片
Best Feature Film (a.k.a. Best Picture - the jargon is different from the Academy Awards - the Oscars) award in addition to another 3.

A dark horse that won.

The director said they went there without expectations.

It was competing against Johnnie To's Drug War, Wong Kar Wai's The Grandmaster, A Touch of Sin from Jia Zhangke and Tsai Ming-liang's Stray Dogs.

A small budget film without movie star actors/actresses beat Wong Kar Wai's The Grandmaster, which was a mega-budget US$38.6 Million film with big name stars like Tony Leung and Zhang Ziyi.

Wow not just one but four awards. Really happy that a Singapore film with a story that many ordinary Singaporeans could relate to had such success.
