Gotta love the lines and colors man.

You are very right , I wasn't really out there to take good shots.
as per the title says, I merely wanted to try out the rented 10-22mm lens and therefore took this trip at the river bank.

The canon 10-22 lens is a very good lens, especially if you like the wide perspective it gives. frankly, most of the people have commented on these pics. I seriously don't like the vignetting as well. Several are unnecessary. Since you want to try the rented lens, might as well fully utilitse its full potential and see how the 10mm can give you v nice landscape pics (with careful composition). Does testing a rented lens means you can just anyhow shoot?

you are not doing justice to the lens then.

thanks bro :)

thanks for the words. do I look like I anyhow shoot ?
anyway, your point about vignetting is noted.

Looking at your shots, you did not understand the lens well. Lens being rented is not an excuse for poor photos. Your photos also showed that you also did not pay attention to composition rules that are important in landscape photography. I have to agree that you were shooting anyhow.

thankyou very much.

I like the steps. It is like "Stairway to the Abyss" because you can still make out the details of the steps that are below water level.

thanks bro :)

ha.. to quote yourself..

"You are very right , I wasn't really out there to take good shots.

"The Punggol Shots are purely to test the lens, nothing else."

so you din just "look" like you anyhow shoot.. you also said it yourself.. as for the pics you posted.. there are a couple i thought were ok.. others some were seriously very snapshot-ish and did not do justice to the lens (even if it was rented)..

i believe the 10-22 is capable of producing better pics.. do review your compositions and the feedback from others.. keep shooting~ :)

good shot here, lots of potential in this one.

Thanks bro, there is one with a smaller merlion and broader sky.. that one makes the subject very much lonelier... hmm... dunnow which u prefer... but this one has more impact..

Thanks bro. Thanks for the encouragement ... will use of CPL helps to take away the reflection in the stairs area... CHeerios!

hi sspring83,

thanks for visiting and commenting the thread. appricaited.

I do not wish to continue on this "justice to the lens" thing because I think it is pointless and meaningless going on like this. I can rent a $5000 Leica lens and put in the cupboard , it is still my problem. Nothing to do with anyone out there. I am paying for the lens why are you guys worrying for me ?

cheers,
Kang

Go easy on the comments really. let's be nice?

My 2 cents (ain't no pro, picking up photography on a hobby basis right now ). Composition aside, by just looking at the technical quality of the pictures already set me off to a *wow* mode.

I'm not gonna get pictures like these with my tamron or my kit lens. In terms of color and contrast, I think it clearly speaks a lot of of the lens (10-22).

I can't wait for my 10-22 to arrive.

....eh.. how u manage a 10-20mm on a 1.3x factor body? you are scary...

haa.. *~ glup!
