I use aperture priority mostly and tend to rely on the AWB on the camera. :)

Looking at the thread zcf mentioned, seems like I'm not the only one finds the camera to produce warmish tones.

try daylight wb or other settings instead.

Daylight WB is pretty useless... in Singapore type of lighting, u tend to get bluish shots... I rather shoot raw or just use custom WB...

I have this first start problem in my 7D too. you guys sure the service center can solve this?

btw, guys..please note the thread topic..subsequent discussion seem to wander off... kindly stick to the discussion topic. thanks.

I know of a few people that had fixed this startup issue with cleaning all the contacts on the camera. The ones for the lens* both the body and lens* plus the ones in the battery compartment. Looking in the battery compartment there are a few in the middle between the ones that hit the battery too.*Careful not to splash your mirror* Use alcohol on a Q tip let dry then follow that with a clean pencil eraser on all then wipe with a lint free colth. I use a old cotton undershirt. I hope this helps some of you not need to send in your cameras to service.
