Try not to frame subjects smack in the middle. For this case, it is right in the middle vertically. And yeah, you need a tripod

The 1/3, 2/3 rule... Actually, you can try to put the reflection of the water nearer to the bottom edge of the photo. That way, you'lll most probably make the 1/3, 2/3 rule.

but for my case, how do i frame them 1/3 away from the sides?

because it's a whole stretch of buildings and... well i think you know what i mean lol.

haha i kinda get it now, but i need a tripod for that and i have no idea which to get >.>

this pic can become quite a nice panoramic by cropping away most part of the bottom, need to straighten your horizon also.

think any cheap tripod will do.
