New firmware 2.005 for M8 is now available for download.

According to Leica, the only difference is the 'Shutter fault' fix.

Thank you for the info, I wonder when will they release a new firmware for the M9 to resolve the WB issue?

I downloaded and installed this. I wonder what it does besides solving the shutter issue.
