Finland: Summer 2009

Hopefully you don't get tired of my landscapes from Finland. No worries, I start to run out of good RAWs already, eventhough still bunch of them left.

It was another drive in province on small road. It is amazing, you can drive 10-20km w/out seeing any house.

This is another small lake but seems to be rich of fresh water fish as I saw guys taking small fishing boats with their car trailers there.

There was this small log cottage, too.

Took a coffee break in this cafeteria which has originally been an iron factory.

Last day before return back to Singapore I took some shots in Helsinki - my H series of shots . This is the last set to be posted here, thanks for viewing.

This is a parade at noon time but I don't know what it is exactly when being so long out from there.

There are tens of artists on street, this is one of them, a live statue.

Nearly similar. Sky is amazingly blue in Finland...another colour in our flag.

Let's visit Seurasaari, a museum island in Helsinki. This is a beautiful restaurant building.

You can buy coffee from kiosks, too.

In a small house is only one tiny room in which our national writer Aleksis Kivi wrote his books. He passed at the age of 32.

You can spread a blanket for picnic under this tree.

There are many old buildings in Seurasaari, transferred from other locations of Filand. Oldest ones from 17 hundreds.

Another one, a barn in which guys had slept in summer time as it has been cooler there than in house itself.

Well, not from Finland any more...had stop over in Bangkok on return.

Well, that's all in this Thread...hopefully I can go there in few weeks time to shoot colorful autumn.

Let's go there in Nov/Dec before snow, you would be amazed with your camera how little light there is and how dark is everything. But do you need to go there then? On the other hand for a photographer it will give new opportunities when all seems to be dead and depressing. Naked trees, basically all b/w...I used to take shots all the year round and most challening it was Nov and Dec.
