A very kind gentleman helped me to replace two black sponge strips at the sides of the "backdoor" - you see my 1984 camera already lost its black strips due to aging from storage. Hence the light leakage. It's one of those wear and tear parts.

Shutter curtain is ok.

So if you were to buy a vintage camera, make sure you check for those. :)

Glad you managed to debug it at minimal cost!

Chiif, no no, you are not wrong either. The camera technician also said the same thing you said. And he said that after his quick fix, if it still does not work, it means that the shutter is faulty. So he was narrowing down to possibilities - of which the one stated by you was one of them.

so now its ok????

do u know, m6 design is so gd.. it does not need sponge unlike Japanese cameras...

I dont think its the back door, than I could be wrong. Happens to every frame??? or few frames in a roll???

if u look closely to the design , there's no way light can bend through ..

happened once to my M6 classic.. I brought it to cla in cam x and it has been great.. CLA , light leak fixed and RF adjustment for $120.

and he told u to shoot a roll and try if there's still light leak????

Yep it is ok now. It happened to a few frames in every roll previously. I shot a roll yesterday, and the problem was gone after the sponges were inserted into the two sides of the "back door".
