Hi everyone,

I'm going to Hong Kong in November and I'm trying to "maximize" my trips by getting some filters. (B+W CP 77mm and either Hoya or B+W ND+4, +8)

Would be cheaper to get filters from there?

Also for ND between Hoya and B+W, I don't see any reviews between the two.
Any difference between the two in terms of coating, quality, effects?

I don't know about the reviews too except to say that B+W filters are generally better than the HOYA HMCs equivalent. At a price, of course.

If you could source for Kenko Pro 1 D series of NDs, it would be a better value for money. It has the made/build quality of B+Ws at the price point of (slightly above) HOYA HMCs (below the price point of the SHMCs).

I got a Kenko Pro 1 D 77mm ND8 for US$40-00 in HK some time back.

not sure if it is really better. But the B + W are much much easier to clean than Hoya.

I guess you are mentioning about the HMC filters from Hoya... Yes indeed they stain for the UV protection filters. The B+W MRC ones are a breeze..

well if you can't get prices in singapore to compare, u could use prices (inclusive of shipping & tax if applicable) from B&H or adorama as a basis.
