We are trying to understand what materials would you prefer for a Square Filter Holder. Would a Metal one interest you more than a Plastic one? How much do you expect something metallic will cost more than a plastic one? These will apply to all versions (83/100/150).

For simplicity sake, let's assume that the price of holder (metal) is about 100 dollars.

Yes, No, or Doesn't matter as long as it works great.

I might be in the minority. But I personally would be more than happy to pay abit more for a metal filter holder.

Here's why. Yes the current plastic one is sufficient. But a metal one is less likely to be gouged out by the corners of glass filters. And at the same time the quality of a metal filter holder is something that is more reassuring for glass square filters.

Trade off is of course metal ones are more expensive and heavier.

Without having actually used a plastic holder and experiencing the gouging problem, I am quite inclined to go for a plastic holder for budget and weight reasons. Of course the assumption would be that both the plastic and metal filter holders can tahan the weight of the glass filters just as well.

Actually, I think that regardless of whether a holder's material is plastic or metal, the guides which are used to hold the filters are plastic. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I have yet to come across any slot in filter holder, regardless of price, that uses metal filter guides. I'm not even sure it's possible to have metal filter guides.

Thanks all for the valuable feedbacks, we will take into considerations :)
