Don't know mine does it come with that Digital ICE..:dunno:
For slides, that means I scan it like how I scan my neg, except must set to positive slides under the film type while scanning?

V300 does not have Digital ICE.

Yes you must set it to positive to scan slides.

bear in mind digital ice does not work on BW negs.

Yup LM6er made a very interesting point - it won't work on BW. :)

But you can still use it for films like XP2 or Kodak T400CN which do not have silver halide base

Hi all,
Anyone knows where is the best place and low price place to get the Canon 8800F?
Can it scan up to 16bits?
What is the DMax?
Thanks,
Cheers,
Ed

You can scan a very high resolution pic with the scanner, not to mention the Canon 8800F..
There are some other forum members who have that scanner, let them tell you more about it. ;)

recently just bought a canonscan 8800f
did some test scan and find out that the result always turns out a little warm in the color and also seems quite soft.

is that normal?

btw I am comparing the same photo with lab scan and also scan from V700.

there are so many variables that its quite impossible to answer ur question. the best way is always to experiment with the different setttings and find out for yourself what works for your particular requirements. google the scanner. lots of info from actual users.

Buy Epson V700...IT show is next wk. Much better than Canon.Just wonder how many of u use IT-8 target to create custom scanner profile? If yes how much is it?...

i got it from fellow clubsnapper, i think i just saw someone selling 1 few days ago, you can go check it out.

8800f scans faster than v700. i think you should keep the 8800f, imho the price gap btw v700 and 8800f not justified. unless you want to scan 4x5 or 8x10 large format. just use slight unsharp mask in PS to sharpen the canon scans would help.

sadly its sold!! hahaha.. for 220.. good price i feel.. any idea first hand will cost how much? mayb getting one during it fair next week..:bsmilie:

any nikon coolscan users here? jus wondering what is the typical workflow involved in using this scanner.

i recently shot n scanned a roll of solaris 100 film. somehow i dun get the wild colors i see in various flickr sites n including ferrania's official site.

does the nikon scanner auto correct the colors by itself?

am getting a scanner too.

cant decide V500 or 8800f

Currently using a Coolscan 5k for 35mm and cs 9k for my 6x9s. What would you like to know in terms of workflow?

For me, not really a big fan of the bundled nikon software, but vuescan works wonders for me.
