Just bought a Fujifilm Neopan 100 @ ( Konota )

$ 6.50 per roll (35mm)

Hi, Anyone knows who can scan a full frame for 35mm slides? Most lab scan under scan 35mm. I need a full 35mm frame scanning service. Thanks.
Regards,
chiawk

next time ask for their discount card, that will entitle you to a 10 per cent discount on most things in their shop. valid for processing and printing too.

Any idea is Grace Photolab open on Sunday? :)

I went to Ruby yesterday and took down some prices.
Scan at Ruby:
C41 - $7
Slide - $12

Is it $12 to scan ONE slide. (I think cannot be)

or $12 to scan all 36 slides in the roll.

But also never tell what resolution is the scan done at. What is the point if the slide scan is done commercially at very low res.

If only $12 to scan 1 slide, then the money you pay for just scanning 21 slides will be enough to pay to buy a second-hand film scanner.

What if you have 500 slides to scan?

whatever the cost of scanning film outside.. i do provide a scanning service here.. 5 dollars a roll, slides or negatives.. self scanned on my dedicated film scanner. Medium format allowed also. Scanned in 16bit/color @2820dpi and converted to 8 bit/color jpeg.. tiff also available upon request if you pass me your own blank dvds to burn.

refer here http://forums.clubsnap.com/showthread.php?t=339819

so if you have a lot of film to scan.. 5 dollars a roll is pretty reasonable i feel.

I bought a three pack roll of Fuji Superia ISO 200 colour film at a fuji lab located at Lot 1, basement. It cost $9.80, pretty cheap when you divide up the cost into individual rolls.

i saw marina sq's standard photo pte ltd (near john little) selling 3 rolls for $9 for the same film (:

Hi guys, i wonder why there is a different scan cost in slide and negative film?

if the slide is in frame then i can understand.

will developed slide able to keep like negative film strip? and those x-pro image are scanned as slide or negative film rate?

I give up on labs scanning my negatives, inconsistent, some ok, but usually bad ... buy a scanner, scanning is an art by itself, IMHO. A cheap scanner may not beat the sharpness of the lab's, but at least one has control, especially over the shadow areas ...

.

Hi Lens, i think scanning the slide is much more ex than negative , i think they count by each frame , around 4/frame i think. I rarely scan at the lab so not really sure

slide processing seems to be the cheapest at Ruby, but they dont have a lab there, 3 days for processing. At digital age, I can't wait. So I went back to fotohub(only at bugis), only 2-3 hours even though i have to travel further .

Where can i find the cheapest ISO100 colour slide film(any brand)?

I always find my slides more bright, colourful and detail than my scan(only use 1 lab so far). Which lab scan is good and cheap? I heard epson scanner not bad. Any comments?

Triple D sells Provia 100 at $9.50, ruby sells Ektachrome 100 for $9.20. Provia is great, slightly cool, but that's how I like most of my pictures. Haven't shot with the Ektachrome yet. You're unlikely to get slide film any lower then this, it's just that expensive.

dun mind i share this thread via a link in alternative =)
very good for some of the users there as well

The last rows of Fuji slide i bought from konota is $7.90.

I tried kodak extra colour slide from fotohub for slightly < $7.90.

I am into portrait now.

Based on my skill now, any colour slide will do.

Can I get any cheaper slides than the ones above?

Both look ok to me.

film at fotohub (beach rd) usually costs more than the penin shops.

kodak elite chrome extra colour (100 iso) should be the cheapest 100 iso slide available. about a month ago, ruby sold it for $7.50/roll.

Orient also sold it the last time i was there (also about a month ago). i bought 6 rolls at $7 a piece, after some haggling of course.

other cheaper options might be sensia 100 (which should be cheaper than EBX) and ektachrome 100 (EPP) but i'm not too sure of their current prices.

Casualsnapper - if you into portraits and particular about neutral rendering of skin tones, look out for Astia.

IMHO, Provia 100F is fine, even 400X for portraits, results vary with lighting (and scanning). Astia is a wonderful ASA 100 slide, but I have to buy it from overseas. Ruby told me they will try to order some (although I mentioned 120 film).

These are more for higher fidelity pictures. Otherwise, if some spice is ok, all other films are ok, like Superia, Reala, 400H, etc.

Astia so highly recommended by you and gossipmonger, let me know when Ruby has them. we buy in bulk. hehe.

I used Provia 400X whenever i shoot indoor. it is good but more expensive.
