Actually Timber and I envisioned a Middle-East Princess who just found out that's she's to be married to someone she doesn't know. Something like worrying about the future etc etc.

freudian slip...?

anyway if it's meant to be a middle-easterner, then the race is wrong. Middle Eastern women don't show anything other than the eyes (esp the princesses). you might be better off portraying a mongoloid lady...

i think you mean mongolian :)
if i'm not mistaken, they wear burkas only when going out and in the presence of males.. could be wrong.

this would be more of solitude, perhaps by a window in her room alone, after being told of an arranged marriage.

but point well taken=D

I think the facial expression is there, you probably don't need to drag in external elements e.g. "middle-east princess" into an "emotion" shot. a chinese princess will do just as well :)

wakarimashita~ arigatou gozaimasu :)

Mongoloid is the proper term for the group of races comprising of mainly east asian descent.

Other terms are Caucasoid, Australoid, Negroid...etc.

still prefer the original slightly grainy treatment, especially the eyelid/eyeline area, were you using metallic/gold eye shadow?

actually this treatment look like a grieving widow, now that the make-up are not so discernible.

 I live with 3 women in the house (and I don'ch even have a maid). :o

I would also just like to comment that I prefer your poses without the signature smile. they (the non-smiling ones) seem to have more scope for storytelling.

hwchoy:
:bsmilie: no wonder!

on a more serious note, timber and I were just discussing the pics that people prefer and why. I think you've hit it on the head, in that there's more depth to pics w/out me smiling. cos being happy.. is more or less just that.

this single pic with the rather ambigious title was more or less an experiment, to test this theory. It seems that people can come up with rather interesting/different scenarios on their own, which is very gratifying, coz even if its not a fantastic pic, it does tell a story.

another possible observation we made, is that people like the non-smiling slightly moody shots in color... :)

and i guess the smiling really has become my "signature".. i do it a lot in rl too, getting laugh lines already!

hey I like your smiling poses too :p it's good to be happy, people like to be around people like that. bosses also appreciate staff who "light up the place". Timber is lucky.

have you tried those psychology assessment game and personality profiling tests where they show you lots of people's faces, and you have to pick the emotions they are depicting? we make people managers go though such basic training. Might be useful if you find this and shoot yourself with various "emotions" and see how it stacks up against the "professionals".
