Actually canon L lenses such as the 24-70L, 17-35L have issues with buttons and parts dropping off under usage. So called "L" lens but plastic barrel with buttons that drop off..how?:bsmilie: The 70-200L also has paint peeling issues.

  1st time i hear parts falling of for "L" lens.
as you can see, sigma lens peeling problem typically starts in less than a year under normal usage. i have not used any of the 3 kind of 70-200 "L", so cant comment on the rate of peeling. but my gut feeling is under same usage, i dont think the "L"s are going to start peeling in less than 1 year.

Its not uncommon among those I work with, the 17-35L AF/M button falls off very often. I use the 70-200L daily, the paint peels and leaves a white cloud on my bodies. So don't have the mistaken impression that L guarantees robustness and solid build.
