I recently bought a FED-2 from ebay and it arrived shortly (all the way from ukraine, thankfully in one piece), a brilliant 40 year old leica copy rangefinder built like a tank, i was just wondering if anyone else uses this as well and if you do, how do you find it?

ok i have to admit that the quality of the pictures aren't very good but its my first roll of film in this rangefinder and i have yet to get the hang of it as there is no light meter available for me to gauge the shots and everything is done manually so some of the shots are a little on the bright side but its working pretty well for an underused Soviet-era camera! more pics to come in a few days!

I think the Fed 2 and 1 is one of the most classic camera in the Fed family line of rangefinders. I couple this camera with the Industar 61 LD lens. The sharpness is amazing, if the calibration of the infinity mark from the viewfinder and the lens is correct. Very nice camera to hold, good stuff considering the price. :)

Nice cam bro. I have a FED 4. Good for weight lifting for your arms.
Just to highlight that this Russian cam you must treat it gently. Especially the shutter curtains, never, never touch or try to force on that area. Few months ago I ever talked with Mr Tay from De Camera regarding bout Russian cam. And brief he me thoroughly on this cam. Nice guy.

some B&W shots i developed today:
