They are essentially the same. Just that Nikon label their macro lens as micro.

thanks for sharing the article. and with regards to the poll i use the Ai Micro Nikkor 55mm f/2.8! the one featured in the article.

one cool thing i found out about this lense is that its focal length actually varies by about 5mm when you focus
