fate of D30

Though there are many D30 posting for sale at resale market (I am one of them), but if the buyer is pressing to far down from my expected, I rather keep the D30 as a backup. I would continue using the D30 till the next D90/120 release, by then the D30 will have absolutely no resale value. By then also my son also has grown up and D30 will be the perfect tool to teach him what I know. That's my stand and I think that's the common stand amongst other D30 seller.

I still very much in love with my D30 and the 3MP suit perfectly well as it balances storeage space vs image quality. AF wise I don't think D60 made much improvement. The only feature that catch my eye is the raw mode shooting of up to 8 frames continously (D30 can only produce 3-4), but as I shoot entirely in Jpeg, I can live with this short fall of D30.

The D60's 6MP is a plus when cropping concern but with it's large file size generated, eventually IF I ever own an D60, I might not be shooting entirely in 6MP but step it down to 3MP. However, knowing that I can always shoot in 6Mp if i wanted to is perhaps the little iche in me which prompt me for the upgrade.

I don't mind folking out another $800-$1000 or so for the little improvement of D60 over D30 and the extra one year waranty. But anything more than that I would rather save the money for future purchase on another L lens. At this present moment, building up lens collections stay at my top priority.

Other D30 reseller, what is your stand ? care to share ?

I am defintely keeping mine as i have mentioned earlier...same priority as you. Lens collection build up is a better investment at this point of time as i have not been limited by the D30 body...yet.
