Fate of 5D2 after 5d3 appearance?

They say got different market, some may think they dont need e 61points focusing etc. so they still can sell....

I think just bluf lah maybe just trying to clear off stocks

i think it's bluffing too, if Canon lower the RRP, they will surely lower the price too!

I guess most resellers still keeping the same price because 5D3 is not widely available yet. Soon 5D3 will be sold everywhere and resellers will be forced to get rid of their old 5D2 stocks.

Even BH Photo is selling 5D2 body only for U$2199 which is around S$2.7k only which is similar to local pricing for gray set.

Even the more branded and expensive ones like Cathay Photo is quoting at $31XX
You should be able to get it cheaper than CP if you pay cash..

I seriously doubt Canon will produce 5D2, or even still producing 5D2 months back when they are preparing the announcement and launch of 5D3 already.. they need to clear stock, don't they?

I don't noe if u all know some credit card do give great cash rebate on how much u spent on that month..
from what i know, CP's price for cash or credit card is the same....

For example.. Standard charted manhantten card give 5% cash rebate...
if u bought the 5dmkII at $3200 after the rebate u only pay $3040...
which is very much more cheaper than any shop in the market...
do anyone of u notice this hidden saving before???

It probably will dip below $2k for used sets (either by desperate sellers, rich sellers, or not so good condition), but I doubt it will happen so soon for BNIB sets.

yes, for used sets at BnS I would expect some desperate sales from those who didn't manage to get the 1st batch of mk3, and from those who was hesistating at first, but after seeing the actual reviews from the 1st batch users and decided to get one themselves.. so it's very likely that it will crash below the $2k point..

BNIB sets, I guess it would largely depend on what's the supply amount for 2nd batch and how strong is the demand by then.. if it is still hot, price won't drop because shops will want to make use of this opportunity to carrot.. haha..

The 5D2 is definitely not a crappy camera. brilliant if you consider that it was released 4 years ago, image quality head and shoulders above all its competitors.

5D3 is better because of latest advancements in technology.
