Got this info from a person in PPCSG:

PQI Europe Announces the fastest Compact Flash Card the "PQI F1 Compact Flash card" The card has a 50 x read speed and a 44 x write speed. The first cards should be available in the beginning of May for the 64 MB and the 128MB. The 256 MB and the 512 MB will be available at the end of May.

If this info is true... think will bring about another round of price reductions in CF cards.....
;)

I'll get it and shoot RAW forever! 15mb takes forever to write to my transcend 25x sigh.

I don't think it will be cheap when just launched.

Actually, unless you're using a Professional Camera.
25,30,40,100 X CF Card doesn't matter.

Because your camera can only read/write at a certain speed.
Consumer Cameras should be around 12X ~16 X I think.
So 25X should be more than sufficient.

Hmm .. let me see if I can do a MO for it. Yes ? No ? ke ke

Glad to be of service.

scandisks media CF and SD are notoriously slow when it comes to speed.
dpreview did a review on the media sometime back and as Wai guessed it.. scandisk came in last. cant really remember the link,

ppl who have used them in PDAs have been complaining about compatibilty issues (SD cards with Ipaqs)

regards

orr wait lar ... i go complie a report ! ;p

The conclusion of this is :
"Cards from lesser known manufacturers are often as good as, and indeed often better than the more well known names"

Another point is than with the 8 or 9 images buffer (Canon 10D )of my camera and shooting in JPEG I never worries about writing speed...
But maybe, if I was using a 1D and shooting at 8 frames/sec would have choose a fast CF.

Today I have the cheapest one I found on the market: Transcend 512 Mb at 230 SGD.

:bsmilie: Are you kidding? Your RAW file is 15MB on your CP5700? Sound more like TIFF file to me. Mine on average is only 7MB. ;p

Good to read up your manual the difference between TIFF and RAW (NEF).
