F60D or F200EXR?

I would choose the F200EXR too...

Does anybody here compared the F200 with Canon IXUS 980IS? I had used before old model IXUS 950IS, find it not bad. Don't know whats the standard now. I still using 2 Fuji cams. ;)

I think its a breakthrough for any camera. Even my D60 shows fringing with a 135 f/2.8 AI on it.

not really. just in-camera software auto-removal. but saves time PP-ing for those who are bothered by it ;p

I would choose the F200EXR....the spec and performance are simply better....:)

Actually, that's not entirely true. Yes the F200 looks better on paper but since when did we buy cameras based on specs alone? The performance is actually not as good as the F60fd.

Go here and check it out for yourself.

I selected 'Fujifilm Finepix F200EXR' for the first camera and 'Fujifilm Finepix F60fd' for the second and did a side by side comparison for the outdoor shot, indoor shots and ISO 100, 800 and 1600 shots. I was quite surprised myself when I saw the results with my own eyes. Tell me if you don't think the F60fd is both sharper and less noisy.

I just checked out the site and umm, F200EXR has better details, finer grain, less chroma noise and less noise reduction compared to F60d...:dunno: F200EXR is clearly the better camera leh.

i checked it out too.. at ISO800, i din check the rest. F60Fd is horrid! very noisy.. F200EXR is so much better

I think he was referring to the still life images at higher ISO.
It does look like noise is better controlled in the F60 for images ISO1600 and above.
However, all through the entire range, the F200EXR maintains more details and constrast. This could mean that the 200EXR has a less agressive noise reduction algorithm compared with the F60 which is a good thing if you want details.
In anycase, nobody uses any ISO above 800 anyway (ok..maybe some may try 1600) because regardless of what camera you have, no PnS will be able to perform well above the ISO800 for light shots because of the limitation of the ccd size and processing.

If you compare the ISO1600 pics, you would notice that:

1. The texture on the face is smoother on F200EXR
2. The color on the face and hair is richer on F200EXR
3. More noise on the black wine bottle on F200EXR
4. Better resolution on F200EXR

i think those who commented f60fd being better than f200exr must be doing so without their specs :bsmilie:
