most preferably on e manual or a/s modes in macro focus. n also, to use e lowest f-stop number (larger aperture) for a shallow depth of field to be achieved. n lastly, to get up close to ur subject as much as possible so as to reduce e focal distance. flash isnt a requirement.. for shooting under low lightings, u may wanna use a higher iso or a longer shutter speed with e camera mounted on a tripod to reduce motion blur.

Thanks. Very helpful indeed.

ya... a bit dark... have you try to use night mode with long exposure?

I only use 1s for long exposure. I will try to use up to 2s on my next trip.

Something to ask, for shooting at night, do we adjust the brightness using EV, timings for long exposure or ISO? I am new and it seems these 3 functions are serving the same purpose in the night. Higher EV/ISO and higher EV value all gives me a brighter pic, correct? :dunno: I blur liao.:what: Do we keep trying an error by playing the 3 functions to reach the desired effect?

Another newbie question, F31fd transfer pics to PC ok but how to transfer pics from PC to my F31fd?

This picture is taken at end of Marina Coastal Road. Taken without stand, placed on a platform and shoot. ISO- 200, Long Exposure 3s, F2.8 value. Pic w/o edit, pls comment. I am still figuring how to do a good night shot with F31fd.

Overall, I'm very much satisfied with this camera. It allows me to take good photos even when I'm on board the coach. And at nighttimes, my camera is the only rare few out of my tour group to be able to take decent photos. As we were constantly on the move on this trip, I didnt had the luxury of time to adjust my angle for the shots...but I find this camera to be a good all-rounder camera to bring on a trip.

However, I'd have to advise those who wants to take video, please get a seperate video-cam...cos I really hate the video function of this camera (loud noises)...
