Still deciding if the face detection worth $50.:bsmilie:

Yes it is :) Especially during a tour, when asking other people to take photo for us, lot of time the focus is not on our face. So we come back home with out of focus pics :(

This is when face detection is important ;)

resale value also higher lah :bsmilie:

take the F31fd, it has the ISO 800 limit setting in M mode where F30 doesn't have. It's one of the most desired feature that F30 is missing :)

For me i bought it for my wife and kids, the fd should make it easier for them.

One macro sample shot to share:

seems like F30 is still better for night shots.. a bit slight clearer..

Hi,

I am a casual snapper and I have just upgraded to F31D from a Canon 2MP. I would be using AUTO for most of the cases except for night shots:

a) Night Mode : I suppose I have to change to N/(Scene Positioning) option
- What's the length of the LONG Exposure for a good night shot (1 - 15 )

Thanks,

NeoTan

ignore this post. trying in vain to upload images

in case i don't make it to getting images on here, I'll just say the following:

1. ISO 3200 with no flash and only a lightbulb for lighting, is not a pretty sight. Much noise. But I suspect it's still better than most in this class from what I've read elsewhere. Probably around same as f30 but not sure, especially withr eports of noise being worse on f31.

2. Purple fringing very much evident on the pix i took on a tree in my garden around mid afternoon against clear blue sky.

3. Face detection rocks. More important than a slight difference in noise between f30 and f31, having it on really made a difference over having it turned off. Buy f31 over f30 for sure I'd say.

Edit: I've posted the examples on flickr, tell me what you think!

My wife and me was so disappointed with our previous camera Z1 that we were very wary of buying another fujifilm.

But after reading reviews and samples of the F31, we went out the next day to get the F31fd.

Very happy with the preformance

If using Photoshop use the save for Web feature. Else resize your photo. Also 72dpi should suffice.

thought u resave it as .jpg the file size will be smaller already?
resize to 640*480 will do already...

F31 is indeed better than any digicam from $ony, Nicon, Olimpus or even Cancon.
