F31d vs F30 - Is it worth the wait

Just bought the F31FD a couple of days ago from South Asia Computer at Funan for $599 incl 1 GB xD Type H, 1 extra oem batt (lower capacity than the one quoted in above post), 1 fuji leather case, 1 screen protector and minitripod. The offer actually included a Fuji card reader which I didn't need and they gave me instead the extra batt. I also bought an extra 1GB xD for an additional $50. I charged the purchase to my credit card without any additional charges. The supervisor who served me was Ming Fang and she's served me really well even to the extent of getting me another new sealed and boxed F31FD after opening one which I realised the serial number was not superstituously nice! Eventually she found one with a good serial number. I tested and checked the camera to my heart's content for any defects, none. She then affixed the screen protector for me. Kudos to Ming Fang for her GREAT service!!!

Actually, before buying it, I surveyed around some of the other shops in Funan but knowing that I am a tourist, they quoted me crap deals without the other freebies!

Took some shots with it and I absolutely LOVE it! My friends are also impressed with this ace camera.

I have only 2 minor gripes about the camera. The workmanship is not quite precise - the halves of the camera shell do not quite meet around the shutter button at the top. In movie mode, the mic, being next to the lens barrel, picked up any sounds the aperture made during the recording and during playback of the movieclip, the sounds are very audible 'clicks'. Of course I didn't buy this camera for movie recording.

Still, an amazing camera, indeed!

bought from South East Asia too and took the card reader because the batt is already so lasting (from what i read)...and i think i was served by the same Ming Fang too. went to alan photo but the uncles were just too busy among themselves. besides got a couple of angmohs in the shop they HAVE to serve.

you should have tried john-3:16. They willl serve you even better at a premium.

I bought my F31d from Song Brothers at Funan.
$599 with 1gb xD card, case, tripod, battery 2500mAh. Add another $40 for 1 gb xD card and screen protector..

Ok now I finally have a digicam again after I got mine pickpocketed at Chatuchak. Ugh.

Wow! better deal with better spare batt! No worries, minor differences.
Incidentally, my friend who was eyeing the canon G7 changed his mind after i told him of this beauty! He's gona get this instead!

Erm... I am not trying to promote the F31fd although just got mine last week pretty decent shots at low lights and fast response. However, the Ixus 60 seems to be an older model to compare. Perhaps you can consider the ixus 850IS but a little bit pricey but got wide angle lens and its 7+ megapixel. However, still luv my F31fd Just my two cents worth.

Oh the general retail price is going at $599 but however you can get slightly cheaper price at other shops i remember some one commented at Cnet Asia he got it at Sim Lim at $535 with 1gb card but don't know which shop. For me I got it from someone from Yahoo pretty good buy

Hi all. Thanks for all that you've written about F31. I'm a F10 owner (which I want to sell now) and now have a F31. True blue Fuji fan!

I managed to get the F31 from a guy who posted a brand new one on yahoo auction. Paid $520 for the brand new camera, 1 gb Type H card and leather case. No extras.

Is that a good deal?

it a one year warranty. but if you go online register it will have a extended warranty. that mean extra one year. total two years. got to purchase and register before end of february.

$20? that's a LOT. maybe new model is coming soon.

You mean the F31fd? I had an E-Quote from them and the promotion is for the F31fd. But I would personally prefer the F30 for its design and lower noise.

So any idea which shops still sell the F30 at good prices?
