I just took my Fuji F31 cam (with its native uw housing) on its first photo trip. Bought it in the morning - drove to Dayang (by coach) and dived with it practically straight out of the box.
I did put some silicon paste onto the O-rings. Then tested the housing in the water. Then tested the cam in the housing in the water. Took it for a quick dive and it was ok, no continuous bubbles.
Went to a depth of about 15 - 18 metres with it. About 4 dives in total.

Constructive criticism welcomed.
I didn't open up the uw case after the dive - cos I dropped the silicon paste onto the sand and it got contaminated with sand. So I didn't recharge it (or put more silicon gel on the O-rings.)
But the battery life was pretty good - I charged it for over 3 hours prior to the dive - then took over 1+ gig of photos and video in over 4 dives. And it was still at 60%.
