No no no, need to make a point here. There are other consideration besides cost, my photoHDD viewer (whatever it's called) does not take xD, why should I need a camera that does not conform to my existing gear, also with the many SD CFs that is already at hand.tomcat said:Just eat your words and go buy it. There's nothing wrong with admitting that you are made an earlier decision based on data that are no longer valid and not letting pride rule the decisions you make now.
Prices of SD, MS and xD cards have fallen dramatically within this year while CF looks set to be replaced by SD as the defacto industry standard in the near future. The price of a high speed xD card is now way less than $100 and should no longer a financial burden to any digital photographer. It is quite sad (and at the same time funny) to hear of people who are somehow prevented by their personal biases from exploiting the improving technology in digital photography.![]()
There are no PhotoHDD Viewer that supports xD not that I can find anyway and also saw a post in CS that there are some compatibility issue with xD-to-CF i.e.; not all xD-to-CF works.tomcat said:People here upgrade their camera at a drop of the pin without blinking an eyelid everyday. What's there to stop anyone from upgrading to the 'latest and greatest' and not to mention cheaper and better photoHDD viewer to keep up with technology. Also, there are xD-to-CF adapters that will allow xD cards to be read by those photoHDD that do not have xD inputs... or there are photoHDD advices that can act as USB host and so could be connected to the camera directly for downloading of images.
There is always a XD to CF convertor available... :devil:azul123 said:For those interested, was at AP SLS yesterday and asked about F30 price was told $575 with the same freebies (1Gb xD/mini tripod/case) and that's include gst as well. So it's now a further drop in price. Almost bought it, until someone reminded me that I have to stick to my words that I will not buy xD or memory stick cameras.
Damn, that takes out many of the Fuji, Olympus and Sony models. One standard only please!!!
DSLR = CF (CF + another format is ok)
PnS = SD
Consumer rules

If you compare the band with the audience, then it would be a little soft as the band would be actively be moving around the stage, so 1/60sec is not going to make it. Nevertheless, the 1/120sec shot at ISO1600 is passable in my view. the noise is well managed. This sulks man... may have to get this camera after all.singdude said:![]()

Takes photos better than most PNs but I think the photos are too soft to my liking,perhaps I am too much used to DSLR

Just want to update that SLS AP is not the cheapest from my earlier post, though I bought it at $570 yesterday, I found out that it is without the screen protector and the spare 3rd party battery. Had to buy the screen protector from MS for $10, since I don't need a spare battery my package came to $580.azul123 said:For those interested, was at AP SLS yesterday and asked about F30 price was told $575 with the same freebies (1Gb xD/mini tripod/case) and that's include gst as well.
