Eyecup for OMD-EM5 issues

I was thinking like you before I ordered the rubber eye cap. But looking at those plastic eye cap exposing without I started to worry it will break apart sooner or later. So with the rubber eye cap covered, I will feel more safe slinging it around my shoulder.

Oh man, who would have thought eye cup becoming a big concern for our camera. I am not worried about it breaking because I doubt it will break easily, I am more concerned with scratches.

I didn't want to get a replacement because I hate ordering from Olympus store as they required a minimum purchase if not, they charge delivery.

Received my EP-10 today. Very fast service by Olympus. :thumbsup: Opened the plastic bag and then I realised that EP-10 comes not only the rubber eye cap but also the plastic part as well. I took out the old plastic eye cap from my camera to replace with the new one then I found out the old plastic part was also already broken. So if I did not replace it with a new one, I think sooner or later this plastic part will also fall off... Thank you Olympus --- for your "excellent" design... :thumbsd:

Actually the problems u face are quite common for the EM5 eyecup, sigh. Honestly that was my main issue with the EM5 which is otherwise an excellent camera. I lost 2 pieces before I decided to gaffer tape the eyecup to the body and it never ever gave me any more problems.

The rubber rim came off from my EP10 sometime back and got an EP11. EP11 so far so good after 2 weeks of walking around in Tokyo with the camera sling over my shoulder most of the time.
Someone once told me that a particular Nikon eyecup can fit OMD-EM5 and suggested to get cheap compatible costing $5-8.

ya, its the eyecup for the Nikon D90. A 3rd party one goes for lesser than $10.

hi everyone,

I just dropped my eyecup for the EM5 today (($*^%($ !!) , anyone else who have faced the same problem?

Did a search online and I realize that the eyecup (EP10) has the issue of being broken easily / dropping easily with one guy extreme enough to superglue his eyecup to the body.
Have a spare EP11 so I'm now using it and somehow it seems to be more tight.
