Eye strain due to ps work

One thing we tend to forget about ambience light which could be a cause for eye strain and inconsistency in reviewing results.

Normally ambient light should be lower than monitor brightness.

I change my room light to that of daylight bulbs.

I have a layer of anti-glare foil on my window, venetian blinds and if I do want to cut off the light further especially in bright summer days I have another layer of curtains. :)

Wow.

You seem to be quite a serious computer photography user.

What sort of photography do you spend so much time with.

Thanks.

Professional I came from graphic reproduction field where I got all my training in Photoshop and colours until I gave it up to concentrate on conceptual still life photography full time about a year ago.

To me my photography is 40% shooting and 60% computer works. There is so much competition out there that often I need Photoshop for that bit of edge.

Could commonly be attributed to neck pain.

Most people who work with computers for long hours will take time off to do a neck exercise.

ya.i got neckaches too.:(
moreover i've been going for my regular spa sessions.seems like it didnt help much but it sure made me more comfy/relaxed.

How many of you are below 40 years of age?
Most likely you can go for an hour or two looking at the screen,
after that your eyes, neck, stomach muscle, back and every other
joins will be uncomfortable.

I got to walk away from the screen and do neck stretch or
drink a cup of water. Wonder what about those elderly folks
above 60 years old who can still do PS for a living? :bsmilie: ;)

That's the heat treament.

I get neck pain only when I do a lot of shooting as my shooting table is low and I am rather tall.

I normally use a hot tower on the neck several times in the bath or hot shower spray aimed on the neck for a few minutes. The pain just goes away after that.

If you need help with wringing hot towels or adjusting hot shower head, quite a few guys in Kopitiam would be more than willing to help out. :bsmilie: :bsmilie:
