Eye-One Display 2

Well, I did use both the tutorials and the help. But I think it doesn't make sense for companies to make a good product like this but failed to produce good documentation to allow users to make full use of it.

perhaps they think their products already have good built-in help, which in eye-one's case is quite true.

Just like many of you, the 'calibrated' color appears a bit strange to me. If someone has shown me a cal and non cal monitor before I played with this eye-one thing, I would have picked the non cal as the correct color!

Also want ot look for addn info to make sure I did it correctly.

I was expecting something like, "wah, this what I have missed all this while" but it is not be. (BTW, I have done for 5 monitors so far and ...)

This evening going down to pay ... BUY BUY BUY :D

amazingly after calibration my monitor (originally calibrated using Adobe Gamma) looks just a little different from before. you can see the colour change when the system boots and the colour profile is loaded during login/startup.

thanx to ESPN again for helping me collect :)

d50 is more yellow if i recall. maybe you set white point to 7500k previously? :p

Alvin, what's this D50/D65 settings? Don't see this option when I calibrate leh.

Well, that's not exactly true. For example, when I pop in the CD to install the software, there are 4 packages. Other than the "diagnostic" which is self-explanatory, it isn't clear what the other software are for and whether they are critical to monitor calibration. A manual would have been very useful.

Anyway, despite my complains about the lack of manual, I still think this is a good product.

Many thanks to Dennis and ESPN for organising this MO. Great job!

color temperature. 5000K and 6500K.

are you calibrating a crt display? cos i didnt get that option when i calibrated my office crt. so i set the crt to 6500K in the display osd menu.

i could select the preferred color temp in eye-one match when i calibrated my apple lcd though.

i should add that i could set the white point to 6500k after i selected advanced mode. see my screenshot here

dont worry. your eyes will get used to it and all will look white again ;)

Hah, ya right...after staring at my monitor for a couple days.....looks 'normal' to me now... :bsmilie:

for those who used to calibrate with Adobe Gamma, remember to remove the gamma loader from your startup folder otherwise it will load the wrong profile.
