Hi,

Does anyone know if this product is available anywhere in Singapore as yet?

It is essentially an SD memory card with built in WiFi that allows you to wirelessly transfer photos to your PC or online photo site. Costs about US$99 in the US.

Thanks.

More info on Eye-Fi at website below:-

camelot88,

Just FYI: This product will not work in its current form for any consumer ISP in Singapore, as the ISP here has transparent proxy for the internet connection, which the card software cannot work with.

Just beware.

Hi Oeyvind,

Many thanks for the great info. I guess this will mean that I can only use it in ad-hoc mode directly between camera and PC without accessing the internet.

No immediate uploading to flickr or smugmug then. Bummer!!! Will have to re-think this purchase now.

Anyone know a workaround for this or do we have to wait for an upgrade?

At this moment, you cannot even register/setup the card.... :(

can i do adhoc mode transfer to PC with this card then?

Ad-hoc is possible but only thru a router. It can not make an actual ad-hoc connection i.e. psp to psp gaming.

Now they didn't put the transfer speed on the website.. previously they did. And it seems that the transfer speed is very, very slow.....

Maybe that's one of the reason not many pple use it.

Hi I've been using it for a few months now after giving up o my last version in 2007 as it did not work back then for the reasons above.

With the latest software update, the card can be used over here without the old networking issues at ISP level.

Bought it off Amazon and it sets up fine.

No issues with logging onto website and registering as before. Speed is quite acceptable with uploads to my mac straight to iphoto and simultaneous upload to flickr or smugmug.

quite happy with it especially for birthday parties etc when the photos pop up on screen after about 30 seconds or so after taking them. So there is a lag, but quite acceptable.

Cheers!
