basically, we are a bunch of dedicated volunteers organizing this event (organizers, facilitators, judges, helpers), from getting sponsorship, publicity, actual event, selection, judging, art work for book, essay, developing of film, printing the photo, printing the book, planning for exhibition, execution of the exhibition, returning the cds, negatives and eye books.

you may not be able to see are tons of work behind the scene, and being volunteers, we have real work commitment (have to feed ourselves 1st mah). so please understand why it is taking that long.:)

we have been requesting for volunteers in both cs and multiply site. please lend us your helping hand.:D

btw, we should be able inform participants whose work/s had been selected no later than march.

 Thanks! Salute for the effort n hard work!:cheers:

this is the 1st time i go through so many photos in a day (took about 8hrs). very stone after that.

btw, snap shots of the 2 days of judging had been uploaded to eye multiply site.

I reckon the selection of pics should be out anytime soon?
One thing i noticed in the past years were that those books were printed in glossy coated papers. It would enable easier viewing if instead it is printed in some matt lightweight coated paper instead. This way, the books might attract more sales and hopefully return some profits to the publisher.

Thanks to you Dennis for your reply, that i managed to squeeze some time off work to shoot some frames to submit.

This year must remember that film collection is on 30th Dec....not 31st. :bsmilie:

thanks for this such great event and all those volunteers that have spare their time.

This 2007 is my time 3rd joining and 2nd time been selected... :)

The 2nd time was one of my memorable cos i got a blank negative after the whole day of walking and managed to "see" some of fave shots but it just my bad that it came of empty..... And that point of time i still wonder can i just submit "empty" one..... hahahahaha

At least you still have the chance to change camera...... mine is . .. . . . . ..

For some reason, whether by fault of printing or quality of selection (i can't say for sure) i find the percentage of good photos in the past years' books relatively below mark. Many are casual snaps but of course there are also a number of seriously good/professional ones.

I recall buying a copy of collection of photos published before in Straits Times (i think it was some anniversary commerative thing) and can't help but to compare that w this Eye e City.
With all due respect to the organizers, does this book sell well in past years?

got the email too :) 2nd time participating and second time selected...

only just realised that last year's selection was shown in manila, spotted a photo of someone looking at my photo in the eyeecity blog :embrass:

A tribute to...
