Eye Control in Canon

 I owned EOS 3 with Eye Control. But I dunno how to use it. Sad

ECF is not a gimmick. It really works for me (I've got an EOS 5).

My guess is that Canon is reserving some tricks in its sleeve. Think about it, how many more revolutionary developments can happen? (Megapixels alone won't help push people to buy new cameras) Let's count the ways....

1. Live LCD preview
2. Film-like dynamic range.
and then somewhere, I think they'll spring a surprise return of....
3. Eye controlled focus.

Same thinking here...

Wow, this technology is pretty cool. Reminds me of southern cross animation using the same technology in their hovertank against the bioroid. Sorry if I OT. ;p

its certainly the best idea to track moving subject. what could be faster than the human eyes. however the techology is not stable enough. i believe Canon is working on something..

This one i'm not sure le. If the EOS 30 performs as well as the EOS 3, then might as well get EOS 30 and pay lesser.

EOS30 didn't have 45 af points did it?

45 AF points are only the pro ones such as 1V n 3. 30 only have 7.

I find the eye-control useful when you want to preview the depth of field. Just look at the small square on the upper left viewfinder and the aperture stops down. Pretty cool... no need to fumble for switches or buttons.

Frankly I'd like the eye-control feature to make a comeback :)

But so far only a few film SLRs have this function.
