Which one is good to buy? One that can use normal batts instead of rechargable ones?

The Compact Drive PD7X used rechargable AA batteries or alkaline ones. One set of 4 Sanyo 2500 batteries when fully charges can upload up to 32GB of data (I've tried it twice)

I myself prefer casing with built-in Li-Ion battery, 'cause it's lighter, more compact, and the Li-Ion battery lasts longer when not in use.

Compact Drive PD7X is too big and heavy for my like ;) But its speed is really fast (based on all the reviews I read).

Don't go with those old versions, 'cause they are really slooowwwww...

AA = cheap n easy to get
lithium = more expensive n hard to get

its ur choice... i tihnk weight difference should be alot....probably 500g atmost?

CompactDrive PD7X could be too good for me.
Any recommedation for Portable drive for CF card type below $200?

CompactDrive PD7X - Price? Where to get? SLS ?

Any recommedation for Portable drive for CF card type below $200?
Does this price include the HDD? or only for the casing?

What can we do with the casing? I thought all the portable drive must contain HDD so that we could download from CF card.

i recently bought a X drive pro II for my trip to beijing... works well and it comes in a bundle the device plus a 40GB harddisk (Samsung) at $330 after some hard bargaining... can choose other harddisk if u want to...

see this site for the specs... http://www.vosonic.com/

btw quite a number of clubsnappers bought the X drive I... site for your reference... http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=96530

to buy the X drive or other portable storage, u can go to this site... http://www.topuni.com.sg/ to see the range of stuffs u want...

The shop is called Top Universal which is at Sim Lim level 4. Most clubsnappers bought it there... price is quite good n still can bargain...

You buy the casing if you already have a HDD from somewhere (e.g. from an unused computer)...

example for the x drive pro, it uses 2.5" harddisk.

For all those Portable Drive from 'CompactDrive', 'Nixvue' and 'X-Drive', do we insert the 2.5" HDD into the casing itself? Therefore, their size are so huge?

anyone know is X-Drive VP2160 available in SG and what is the price?

I also bought X-Drive Pro II, with 40GB harddisk.
It works well, can function as MP3 player too.
The button interface is quite intuitive, and LCD is very nice, blue backlight, and can browse files, erase, etc.

Now I also use it as a backup for my PC data, in addition for CF card photos storage when travelling.

how well does the battery last for the x-drive pro II?

Is X-Drive Pro ll = VP2060?
Any comment on 'Digital Photo bank' and 'Qcool' products?
