Exposure Compensation

Hi guys, I have a question regarding exposure compensation and pushing/pulling films, still a newbie with film.

Let's say I load a roll of film rated at 400, and I set my iso of my cam to 1600. If i shoot it at Aperture priority, and let the camera decide the shutter speed, my pic would end up underexposed right? So should I push it during developing or just dial in +2 for exposure compensation?

if you pretend your 400 film is a 1600 film,
you shoot it as a 1600 film
and when you develop it, you develop it as a 1600 film.
the term is called "pushing", if you develop this at fotohub,
you tell them to push it 2 stops.

"dial in +2 for exposure compensation" makes it a iso 400 film again,
if you develop it at 1600, it becomes over developed and very contrasty
and highlights gets blown. you should not have a roll of film with different
iso.

hope dis helps

Do note once you rate the film at ISO 1600, you need to expose the whole roll of film in ISO 1600.
