Yes, It's a seamen tradition to sound their horns and fire flares at the stroke of midnight on New year's day. Go to the beach next year and see, it's nice

I saw them from my house (eh, no need go beach la... I see the sea from my house ;) )... yeahh... at the stroke of midnight, suddenly heaps of these red flying stuff were all over the sea... very cool.

But IIRC, they are not allowed to use red flares as it's reserved for emergencies. Aniway it's a wonderful photo ops if you can shoot from a vantage view point.

They were mostly red... some were white but 90% were red.
Yup, I did shoot them... ermm... think can consider vantage point?
Photos are still in my camera... together with heaps of others that I should be processing. :embrass:
Just now I took photos of lightning from my house... managed to get a few not bad shots. Somehow it seems like the best lightning occurs when I am not shooting! Grrr... ;(

These days, I'm at home so much I think I'm doing most of my shooting from home!
I used to shoot macro at home too... all sorts of strange bugs seem to love coming to my house (no matter where I stay) and especially to my room!
I thought of it as an "Urban macro" collection. :bsmilie: Somehow these days, not seeing much of them except for the moths that are always here.
I've also shot bugs like ladybird and caterpillar at bus stop and inside MRT before.
No, I didn't catch them and bring them in... they were found there! I shoot my urban macro where I find them - photojournalistic account of urban bug life... haha.

:) share some here!

always love your shots.

i spent the countdown listening to people cheering and fireworks popping. going out in the cold not my cup of tea.. or squeezing with people along the thames and watching drunk people pee.

ok i sound very cynical, but all my friends who went regretted it. :)

hahaha, those shot can be kind of "political challenges" if one miss interpreted it. So dont think it nice to post it here. Will post on FB once ready :) Or if lucky enough then people can see on the Eye the City 2008 Book and the exhibition later in the year.

Ya, squeezing is not really my cup of tea too, it depend on what stuff, event like thaipusam, i love it!!!! hahahaha
